Pointy Bras
- According to recent press reports, sales of the 1950’s ’pointy bust’ bras
made famous by fifties pin ups, Jane Russell and Marilyn Monroe are soaring.
Lingerie retailer John Lewis are reporting a huge surge in sales of
pointy bras
which is driven by the latest catwalk collections from designers like
Jean Paul Gaultier, Dolce & Gabbana and Louise Goldin.
The look was a huge success in the 1950s and has been revived
on several occassions, typically in times of tough economy, most notably by Madonna in the 1980s.
John Lewis have seen sales of the Triumph Doreen bras increase by 33 per cent this year
and a 10 percent increase on the conical best-seller Fantasie Belle range in a week!
Pointy bras are also available at Figleaves.
Recent trends have shown that women no longer want to hide their breasts
but want to show off their assets and use them to their advantage.
